Define and describe the ways in which a diagnosis of dementia affects quality of life and psychological well-being of the diagnosed person and his or her caregiver and family.
Describe evidence-based treatment approaches that support positive coping strategies, address mental health issues and facilitate planning in the early stage of dementia.
Identify strategies that can be incorporated into everyday practice to improve quality of life for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
